If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!We are currently working with a mainstream secondary school that believes in creating an engaging and supportive learning environment where students can thrive academically and creatively.Teaching Assistant roles and responsibilitiesMonitor and assist students as needed in their daily routines across classroom activities.Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN.Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).Initiate and follow through with behavioural interventions as designated and demonstrated by the classroom teacher.Support the learning and wellbeing of pupils throughout the school.Work alongside and advise learning support assistants.Teaching Assistant RequirementsSome existing knowledge of strategies and interventions for supporting students with autism is desirable.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Patience, empathy, and understanding towards students with diverse needs.Relevant qualifications or training in special education or autism support is desirable but not essential.A degree of flexibility and adaptability.To work with GSL Education as SEN Teaching Assistant, you should:Have the right to work in the UK.Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.If you are interested in this Teaching Assistant or would like to hear about other TA roles in the area, please apply through this advert or call Tom at GSL Education on 07930660734.
