We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Psychology to join our thriving Psychology department in an independent sixth form college in Kensington. We offer a wide range of A Level subjects, including a highly successful Psychology program with a strong track record of student achievement and progression to top universities.About the Psychology Department:The Psychology department is a dynamic and collaborative team with a shared passion for exploring the human mind and behaviour. We offer a stimulating and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of topics, from biological psychology and cognitive psychology to social psychology and developmental psychology. We encourage students to engage with research, conduct experiments, and analyse data to develop their understanding of psychological concepts and theories.About the Role:
- Teach Psychology at A Level, inspiring and challenging students to deepen their understanding of human behaviour and mental processes.
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
- Support students in preparing for their A Level Psychology examinations, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to succeed.
- Guide students in conducting independent research and completing challenging coursework, fostering their critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Contribute to the department’s curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Psychology curriculum remains relevant, engaging, and rigorous.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the college to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Psychology education.
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds QTS or equivalent.
- Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Psychology.
- Demonstrates a passion for teaching Psychology and a commitment to student success.
- Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
- Has a good understanding of the A Level Psychology specifications and assessment requirements.
- Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
