PermanentPensby High School is an 11-16 co-educational and non-selective secondary school, situated on the Wirral, in a highly selective local authority. We are currently looking to employ a Teacher of English (with drama or media) to join our successful English department. We are committed to placing the development of teachers and therefore students’ learning at the forefront of what we do. As a result, pupil outcomes are high when compared to national figures, but particularly strong when compared to similar schools. The school is oversubscribed in every year and staff turnover is low.The English area contributes to the school¿s overall success, gaining results in terms of attainment and progress above national norms. This is as a result of consistently good teaching, staff working to support each other and develop the day-to-day experience for students.The core function of the post is to teach English with the ability to teach at key stage 3 and 4 are essential for this post. New appointments are supported by a tailored coaching programme and all staff contribute to a collegiate coaching programme.The successful candidates will be expected to:
- Teach English across key stage 3 and 4, with drama or media as a second subject
- Display and promote excellence in teaching and learning
- Inspire Pupils
- Have a commitment to raising achievement
