If you would like to visit the site and meet the team before applying, please reach out to us at .The RoleThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist to join a vibrant team providing an outstanding learning experience, through the delivery of engaging teaching, learning and assessment, which prepares our apprentices for the next stage in their career. The team you’ll be joining is energetic and diverse, with colleagues ranging from recent graduates to those with over 35 years’ experience within the Engineering industry to those who have been teaching with us for less than a year.You’ll be working with Rolls Royce apprentices ranging from 16 to 18 years old and adult apprentices on a variety of courses including the machining apprenticeship standard, machining appreciation courses and supporting graduates with practical projects. You will be predominantly working in the engineering workshop, instructing apprentices on Milling and Turning. There will be a small amount of classroom delivery, supporting apprentices with their knowledge, skills and behaviours, and completion of their portfolio of evidence.This role will be eligible for the new Government Levelling Up Premium Payments for Further Education (FE) teachers if you are in your first 5 years of teaching within FE. These payments range from £2,000 to £6,000 for the academic year 2024-25. The ideal candidate will possess industry experience in Machining, along with a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in the subject, an HNC/ degree in a Mechanical Engineering discipline is desirable but not essential.It is essential that candidates have experience in Milling and/or turning. CNC experience is desirable but not essential.If you are not a qualified teacher, no problem! If you have industry knowledge, we will help you achieve Qualified Teacher Status.
