You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide the best technical and cost-effective solution. You will lead the preparation of technical proposal, alignment with customer and preparation of the budget relevant to Gas Turbine application.Responsibilities, authorities and accountabilitiesYou will lead the technical strategy of Baker Hughes offering in agreement with the project team/functions. You will be the main technical interface between customer and BH during the Inquiry To Order (ITO) phase.As a System Integration Application Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing, managing and negotiating the Baker Hughes technical proposal; responsible for the estimation/accuracy of the budget associated with the proposed solution.
  • Leading the definition of the project technical strategy, influencing customers towards Baker Hughes solutions by properly accounting for competitors’ technical strengths and weaknesses versus Baker Hughes offering/capabilities.
  • Preparing, within the required timeline, the most attractive technical proposal at first submission (i.e. including but not limited to the selection of rotating equipment and its auxiliary systems) using ITO tools and following ITO policies and procedures, implementing, where appropriate, innovative technology (NPD).
  • Applying product and quality policies, addressing and mitigating any risks as per Baker Hughes procedures.
  • Leading the technical negotiation, coordinating with supporting functions and attending meetings/presentations with customer.
  • Handing over the technical contract to execution team in case of award.

Required Qualifications

  • Have a degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent work experience.
  • Have experience in Engineering, Application Engineering, Technical Sales, Product management, Customer Service or equivalent technical/commercial role.
  • Have exceptional verbal and non-verbal communication skills for preparing proposals, conducting meetings, answering sales/customer questions, and writing/explaining technical aspects with dedicated presentations.
  • Have Commercial acumen & leadership influencing skills.
  • Have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Have good interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Have ability to influence others and lead small teams.
  • Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact. Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
  • Have Effective problem identification and solution skills. Proven analytical and organizational ability.
  • Be Fluent in English (written and spoken) with good communication and presentation skills.
  • Be willing to work on stretched deadlines with flexible time management and available to travel on short notice.
