You’ll play a pivotal role in developing solutions that safeguard military intelligence platforms, air defense systems, AI-enabled intelligence exploitation, and critical infrastructure protection. Key ResponsibilitiesWorking as a System Engineer at Terma means that you will work with the entire value chain, from understanding customer needs to integration of solutions at the customer and be responsible for requirement management, as well as function as a domain knowledge expert over time.
You will have a wide range of interfaces and close cooperation with other project participants, including System Engineers, Software Engineers, Testers, and Project Managers for the entire project. Over time you will gain increasing responsibility for the overall product functionality and performance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Understanding the customer’s situation and needs, and transforming this knowledge into a technical solution.
- System integration – COTS hardware (servers, workstations, and switches), hypervisor, COTS SW, and Terma developed SW.
- Development of automatic provisioning and configuration (infrastructure as code).
- Producing the necessary documentation to repeat the system integration (for installing multiple similar systems).
- Maintenance of development systems and reference systems at Terma (a reference system is a copy of a system at the customer).
- Acting as an important sparring partner for your colleagues in and outside the team.
You will also
- Participate in test activities necessary to ensure system and project delivery – including tests at the customer site (in Denmark, or a NATO country).
- Participate in team alignment events like planning, refinement, retrospective, and review/demo.
- Spar and share knowledge with your fellow system engineers in the C2 organization.
QualificationsAs we are expanding within this area, we are looking to hire different profiles, both junior and senior, and are very open to different relevant educational backgrounds and experiences. Common for all is that we need competencies within the broad area of system engineering – or we are looking for you with limited experience, but with a lot of drive and motivation to learn and develop in this field.Foundational competencies include:
- A structured analytic approach to problem-solving
- Ability to work on different layers of abstraction.
- Ability to communicate with different levels of technical detail.
- Ability to compartmentalize complex problems and systems into smaller segments.
We envision your background to be along these lines:
- An education within IT, engineering, or natural science, e.g., physics or mathematics
- Experience with system engineering.
- Experience with project management (but with a technical background)
- Experience in Linux system administration.
- Experience in Linux system integration.
- Experience in automatic provisioning and configuration (we are using Ansible)
