About usYou will be joining the UCL Sustainable Research Team, a small group of collaborative people who are dedicated to reducing the environmental impact of research. We are part of the wider UCL Sustainability Team, who work with the UCL community to embed sustainability into research, buildings and behaviours at UCL, and beyond.In this job you’ll play a key part in supporting UCL’s groundbreaking LEAF programme. Designed at UCL to improve laboratory sustainability, LEAF has now been adopted by over 100 research institutions in the UK and globally. As membership of the programme grows and new frameworks are developed, support is needed for the growing range of activities related to its delivery.About the roleIn the job of Sustainable Research Administrator, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the LEAF team and programme and providing support to UCL’s ISO 14001 and 50001 certification. You will be responsible managing LEAF invoicing process from start to finish, for both new customers and annual subscription renewals, as well as helping to develop and deliver a range of community building events, for both the internal UCL community and wider international community of LEAF users. You’ll also have responsibility for supporting the LEAF team in their development of new LEAF frameworks, providing administrative support for the activities associated with this.A full range of duties can be found on the attached job description.About youIn this job you will be an integral part of the Sustainable Research Team, supporting their delivery of the LEAF programme and work closely with members of the wider Sustainable UCL Team in the delivery of their role. To be successful, we are looking for candidates who:

  • Have good customer service skills and are willing to look for solutions to unexpected challenges that can arise when dealing with international organisations.
  • Are systematic, have good record-keeping skills and are familiar with financial systems in order that the LEAF invoicing process can be accurately managed.
  • Are friendly and personable, with the ability to work with both academic and professional services staff in range of different organisations and countries.
  • Are capable of working across multiple teams, using initiative and time-management skills to ensure the appropriate support is delivered.
