• The Sustainability Specialist ensures the integration and implementation of various sustainability strategies from a dynamic, multifunctional perspective. Primary responsibilities are to establish the IKEA brand and IKEA stores as trustworthy and meaningful, with the latter being a natural destination for sustainable home living and to be responsible in stores to ensure that we meet IKEA’s commitment to having a positive impact on people and the environment, growing our business and achieving long-term profitability.
• WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE:
• Demonstrated experience in the field of communication, Corporate Social
• Responsibility and a strong interest in sustainability issues;
• In depth knowledge of how to initiate, plan, execute, control and close a project;
• Ability to engage a receiver and create passion for your plans;
• Ability to create a strong network of partners internally and externally to the
• company;
• Ability to recognize the link between environmental sustainability and the
• commercial agenda;
• Committed to creating a more sustainable way of living;
• Good level of English;
• Self-reliant and motivated with proven ability to work as part of a team as well as
• independently.

• Cooperate with the store management team to ensure Sustainability is integrated
• into the store Action Plan;
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective and
• consistent engagement throughout the local area;
• Establish and lead processes to facilitate the concrete and effective alignment of
• the sustainability strategy and its integration into the store’s corporate agenda;
• Communicate internally and externally, the strategy and goals, acting as the
• company’s ambassador on sustainability topics;
• Make sure that the store Action Plan is implemented and periodically checked
• through the Sustainability Functional Review and other relevant assessments;
• Act ad reference person for co-workers regarding sustainability related matters,
• contributing to co-worker training and engagement initiatives;
• Work in cooperation with our national and local strategic partners and charitable
• organizations to ensure shared campaigns and initiatives are effectively planned,
• executed and communicated;
• Provide sustainability related contents for communication purposes, with special
• focus on local initiatives;
• Provide an inspiring and motivating direction for the store colleagues on how,
• together, we can grow IKEA in a sustainable and socially responsible way.
