If so then you may be our new colleague in the Expansion Support Centre of Excellence within Product Supply, Quality & IT (PSQIT) Sustainability.The PositionAs Novo Nordisk is becoming broader in terms of the diseases we treat and the medicines we produce, and larger in terms of our size and the number of patients we serve, it is now more important than ever to ensure we drive sustainable solutions as we expand our manufacturing capacity due to a greater demand for our products and a more diverse product and technology mix.In this role you will directly contribute to our efforts to reduce the environmental burden from our production activities at Novo Nordisk and support the achievement of our ambitious environmental targets whilst ensuring compliance with external requirements. You will play a pivotal role in integrating sustainability principles into the design, execution, and evaluation of expansion projects in a systematic and structured way and translate sustainability ambitions into tangible actions for line of business execution.Some of key responsibilities:

  • Sustainability integration: Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to define and embed relevant sustainability considerations (energy, water, waste, nature/ biodiversity etc.) into greenfield/ brownfield expansion projects, from initial design to post-construction evaluation. Support with mandatory target setting to ensure transparency and drive progress.
  • Compliance and Regulation: Stay abreast of developing environmental regulations, industry standards, best practices and ESG reporting requirements to ensure compliant, sustainable expansions.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and implement sustainability metrics to track the environmental impact of expansion projects and provide regular reporting on progress to assess impact and progress to target.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with internal, external stakeholders and industry partners to ensure alignment with sustainable development goals and translate these and strategic ambitions for key project stakeholders.
  • Best Practices Development: Establish Novo Nordisk standards for best practice for sustainable expansion projects, incorporating industry-leading approaches and innovative techniques.

You will educate stakeholders on sustainable construction, energy-efficient design, and environmental stewardship. Promote innovative solutions for sustainability and evaluate projects to share lessons learned.
Join a dynamic team in a fast-paced department, collaborating with motivated colleagues who support your growth.QualificationsMSc degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Engineering, or related field, combined with minimum 5 years of relevant specialist experience, including consultancy, with cross-functional, global reach and high complexity including significant exposure to collaboration with external parties and management.

  • Proven experience in sustainability management within the construction or real estate industry, with a focus on expansion projects.
  • Familiarity with sustainable building certifications such as DGNB, LEED, or equivalent standards.
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability reporting requirements, including knowledge of CSRD, EU taxonomy etc. for sustainable finance.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, leveraging strong PowerPoint skills, proficiency in data analytics, and a deep understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
  • A passion for sustainability and a demonstrated commitment to advancing environmentally responsible practices.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

You maintain a solid overview of relevant activities and prioritise as needed to ensure time is always spent on the most important activities.
