PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
We are seeking a dedicated Sustainability Fleet Procurement Senior Specialist to join our procurement team. This Senior Specialist will play a critical role in advancing sustainable procurement practices specific to our vehicle fleet. They will focus on optimizing fleet procurement to reduce environmental impact, ensuring compliance with emissions standards, and promoting the ethical sourcing of vehicles and related services.
This individual will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, such as fleet management and sustainability teams, as well as external suppliers, to implement and enhance sustainable sourcing strategies for our car fleet. They will drive initiatives aimed at reducing cradle-to-gate emissions for vehicles, fuel, and charging infrastructure while also ensuring alignment with our broader sustainability goals and regulatory requirements.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Develop and implement a sustainability strategy for procurement, emphasizing the reduction of cradle-to-gate emissions for purchased or leased vehicles, as well as for fuel and charging electricity.
• Evaluate and assess supplier sustainability performance, prioritizing reductions in cradle-to-gate emissions across all procured goods and services, including repairs, maintenance, insurance, and taxes.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including purchasing, supply chain, and sustainability teams, to integrate emission reduction targets into procurement processes and supplier selection criteria.
• Engage with suppliers to drive continuous improvement in reducing cradle-to-gate emissions, establish ambitious sustainability expectations, and build long-term partnerships centered on emission reduction goals.
• Monitor and track key sustainability metrics related to procurement activities, focusing on emissions reductions achieved through supplier engagements and procurement decisions.
• Stay informed on emerging trends, regulations, and best practices specifically related to cradle-to-gate emissions in procurement, leveraging this knowledge to drive innovation and enhance emission reduction efforts.
• Support the development of sustainability reports, presentations, and communications that highlight progress in reducing cradle-to-gate emissions and achieving sustainability goals internally and externally.
WHAT YOU BRING
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. An advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM, CSR) are preferred.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in procurement, supply chain management, or sustainability, with a specific focus on automotive fleets, vehicle procurement, and emissions management.
• A strong understanding of sustainability principles and emissions reduction strategies, particularly as they pertain to vehicle fleets and associated energy sources. Demonstrated ability to integrate sustainability criteria into fleet procurement processes and supplier evaluations.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data related to vehicle emissions, fleet performance, and sustainability metrics. Proven track record of using data to drive decisions that enhance fleet sustainability.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills, with experience building relationships and influencing stakeholders in the context of automotive suppliers and fleet management. Ability to drive change and align external suppliers with fleet sustainability goals.
• Project management skills, including the ability to oversee projects related to fleet optimization, emissions reduction initiatives, and procurement strategies, while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Passion for sustainability and a commitment to reducing the environmental impact of car fleets through innovative procurement and management practices. Demonstrated dedication to achieving net-zero emissions targets and improving fleet sustainability performance.
