In such situations, effective communication, as well as understanding and application of health information are crucial for promoting public health and mitigating the impact of emergencies.Health literacy plays a significant role in ensuring that individuals can access, understand, evaluate, and apply health information to make informed decisions. This is not only the responsibility of individuals, but also of governments and systems to ensure information is available, accessible and understandable. There is a need to build on lessons learned from COVID-19, examine the existing literature on other emergencies and identify best practices and approaches to strengthen health literacy and make information more accessible, clear and applicable specifically in the context of public health emergencies. This rapid literature review aims to provide valuable insights for policymakers, public health professionals, and organizations involved in emergency response and preparedness.Task type:ResearchTask description:Support the finalization of the literature review on health literacy in emergencies:
1. Refine, supplement and finalize the current available literature review with evidence and good practices related to health literacy-related approaches and interventions in the context of emergencies, including lessons learned from COVID-19.
2. Based on the literature review, identify effective, evidence-based approaches, strategies, and interventions for strengthening health literacy and/or making information more accessible, clear and applicable during emergencies, organized by intervention types.Requirements:Qualifications:
First-level university degree in social science, public health, psychology or related field;
Specialized in public health (desirable).Experience
Track record of peer-reviewed research publications within related areas
Knowledge of and insight into health literacy (desirable);Skills/Knowledge:
Producing evidence and data reviews;
Interpersonal communication skills;
Report-writing (in English).Work Hours: 11 – 15
