Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within VTO, you’ll find our department, Electrical SQD, as part of Supplier Quality & Development.
Our department is responsible for ensuring quality, safety, and environmental excellence across various supplier categories while adhering to Vestas’ standards and processes. The position involves supporting both strategic and operational development of critical suppliers worldwide, including conducting audits, supplier assessments, and implementing key QSE improvement projects. A core focus is on enhancing supplier performance, promoting zero-incident operations, and reducing non-conformities throughout the supply chain.Responsibilities

  • Ensure excellence in supplier quality for electrical commodities such as switchgear, transformers, and converters within Vestas Supplier Quality Development (SQD). Oversee quality-related escalations (QBD) within the assigned area of responsibility
  • Formulate and deploy Vestas’ quality strategy for external suppliers under Global Supplier Quality, ensuring alignment with relevant business functions. Facilitate initiatives within Vestas SQD to enhance internal and external processes
  • Identify and engage global and regional business stakeholders to accomplish business results
  • Coordinate team, departmental, and functional priorities with overall business targets, ensuring actionable planning
  • Set milestones, prioritize tasks, and serve as the key point of contact for the assigned commodity
  • Oversee and manage supplier quality performance for the assigned commodity and allocated suppliers, specifically within converter-electronics
  • Promote the sharing of knowledge and innovation within the team and with external stakeholders. Prepare executive reports and actively participate in business review meetings with suppliers

Qualifications
We are seeking an ideal candidate with the following qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical or Mechanical is ideal), although all technical academic degrees will be considered
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in supplier quality management within manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain. Backgrounds of interest include Automotive, Wind Energy, Machinery, or Defense/Aerospace
  • Good at solving problems and experience handling improvement projects
  • Practical knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 systems
  • Familiarity with quality assurance methodologies, tools, and processes such as APQP/PPAP, VDA 6.3, and VDA 6.5
  • In-depth understanding of electrical commodities including switchgear, transformers, converters, panels, or electronics
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal

Additional information
The primary work location for this role is our office in Aarhus, Denmark or Porto, Portugal.
Up to 50 days of travel per year.
