Employment is based on a person’s professional qualifications and competence.Your Role:CEA CAPA has an exciting opportunity for a current or aspiring educational professional interested in international education to join our Madrid team as a Student Services Assistant. The Student Services Assistant plays a key role in supporting the smooth operation of CEA CAPA’s Student Services Department. This position involves assisting with all aspects of student arrivals, excursions, and activities, ensuring students adapt to and enjoy the city and its culture.The role includes office-related tasks such as managing supplies, mail, and packages, as well as providing logistical support for staff and students during events. Additionally, the Student Services Assistant helps coordinate housing assignments, handles check-in/check-out processes, and offers guidance on various student concerns, from cross-cultural adjustment to health and travel. This role is crucial in ensuring students have a high-quality experience during their program, helping them feel supported and engaged throughout their stay. It also offers an opportunity to build meaningful connections with students and contribute to their personal and academic growth abroad.What You’ll Do:Office and Student Services

  • Office related activities (mail, supplies, deliveries, package reception…)
  • Attend and guide students during excursions and activities.
  • Offer logistic support to staff and guides in activities.
  • Support Madrid staff in all areas.
  • Help and participate in all aspects involved in students’ arrival (airport pick-up, transfer to housing, follow up visits, guided tours….)

Student Services support

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of all aspects of student services onsite, including arrival & orientation; social & cultural activities; excursions; volunteer opportunities and other.
  • Assist in the coordination of student housing assignments and manage check in/check out process, including routine cleaning and damage assessment.
  • Counsel and advice students regarding but not limited to: cross-cultural information, student morale, culture shock, travel, health issues, emotional concerns, and so forth
  • Assist in the creation of calendars and itineraries for each session
  • Hold regular and well-publicized office hours
  • Keep Center Director & SS Advisor informed of student progress, behavior and overall experience in a timely manner
  • Additional duties as assigned

What Makes a Great Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience working in an international environment (with US college students preferred)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Spain
  • Fluency in spoken and written English & Spanish
  • Excellent administration and communication skills
  • Previous experience working in Study Abroad & customer service
  • Ability to connect with students, faculty, and peers.
  • Ability to work independently, whilst simultaneously working as a part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the city and its cultural/leisure offer
  • Personal experience studying/living abroad
