Working in Hollister’s global centre for Continence Care R&D in Ballina, this is an excellent career opportunity to complete a work placement (internship) in a dynamic and growing team in the development and commercialisation of innovative Continence Care products. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the R&D Team by assisting with research and development activities, the testing of new materials and the construction of prototype samples and processes development.

Responsibilities:

•            Attending R&D team meetings

•            Development of new product concepts, testing of prototype and trial concepts

•            Testing and chemical analysis of materials and formulations

•            Development of processes and methods

•            Competitor product testing

•            Construction of prototype samples

•            Supporting in the Design & Development of new products

•            Report writing and presenting

•            R&D Literature reviews

•            Other related tasks depending on project assignment and priorities

Educational Requirements:

This work placement is available to students who are in the process of completing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related discipline and are seeking a placement as part of the requirements of the course.

Skills Requirements:

•            Excellent PC skills, in particular MS Office

•            Excellent communication and organisational skills

•            Ability to work on own initiative and respond to changing priorities
