world as we strive to build the strongest possible university with the widest reach.The Student Engagement Assistant position aims to aid in all aspects of the Student Life department, specially in the event creating and student interaction front. The selected person will be tasked with the administrative elements of Student Life events, projects and activities (sign up lists and its update, mailing, event reminders, communication, reservations , payments etc).The Student Engagement Assistant will support the department’s cultural programming, event coordination, student face to face interaction (specially with the growing number of student leader positions), administrative tasks and projects as we intersect with the Academic Department, the city and the multiple cohorts of incoming upper class and LS students.The aim is to distribute the duties and responsibilities of the department in a more efficient manner through the administrative support, event handling and day to day work entailed in this position as the student cohorts grow bigger and more complex each semester. Qualifications:Required Education
● BA degree of the appropriate fields (Higher Studies, Social Studies, Tourism, Cultural Management, Public Relations)Required Experience● Experience of American higher education, preferably in a study abroad program, or any other international educational experience¡ (Erasmus, TA abroad, Professor abroad etc)
● Experience in event creation and management. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
● Fluency in Spanish and English; (written and oral)
● Excellent transcultural and interpersonal communication skills.
● An understanding of student development issues in post-secondary education and study abroad challenges
● Strong ability to prioritize and multitask.
● Advance knowledge of Media production programs (Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva etc) as we all asMicrosoft systems and programs including Word, Excel and Google Workspace.
● Ability to film, photograph and edit while in events.
● High ability to lead and work in a team as well as to develop ideas independently and encourage proactive suggestions from within the organization.
● Ability to organize and execute socio-cultural and academic events for up to 100 participants. – Experience in producing and editing texts in English (such as handbooks, newsletters, etc.).

Preferred Education
● B.A. in Higher Studies, Education, Tourism, Cultural Management, Public Relations, Cultural Studies, or related fields preferred.Preferred Experience
● Preferably experience in study abroad, international exchange, students services, or residential education. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAdditional Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be well versed in quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data in NYU systems and be able to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards.
