Strategy Manager

Reports to:
Chief Operating Officer

Role Overview:
To build the commercial strategy within Infrastructure Products Europe, involving all stakeholders including CRH. The role will support the Chief Operating Officer of IPE and work closely with the Senior Leadership Team on organic and inorganic growth opportunities and plans, encompassing commercial strategy, acquisitions, major capital expenditures, greenfield sites and other key projects and strategic initiatives.  Since IPE’s inception, organic and inorganic acquisitions and other strategic investments have been a key driver of its growth.  This position will work in close cooperation with Senior Leadership Team, while playing a critical role in driving value for IPE.

Key Accountabilities:

-5 Year and longer-term strategic plans for individual businesses and the collective of IPE encompassing organic growth plans with the resourcing requirements to deliver this plan commercially and operationally
-Strategic deep dives on specific country, end sector (Energy, Data Centre, Residential) and product ranges
-Portfolio reviews and potential strategic options
-Developing a pipeline of acquisition targets
-Strategic review of potential acquisition targets including but not limited to bolt on, adjacency, step out, large and transformational
-Business performance improvement and full potential projects
-Developing customer and end market targeted integrated solutions, connecting the products and services we sell across the International Division and wider CRH portfolio into value added solutions for specific customers
-Collaboration with other key stakeholders across CRH including M&A, Solutions, Enterprise and other Divisional Strategy teams.
-Interaction and relationship building with key external stakeholders including customers, acquisition targets, consultants and bankers
-Co-ordination, facilitation, and challenge of tactical and operational playbooks
-Other CRH critical strategic priorities
 

Associated Responsibilities:

-Developing strategy in the European construction sector or other sectors of interest including Energy, Telecom, Transport and Water Management
-M&A & Integration exposure
-Investment management strategies with a portfolio of companies

Experience and Training:

-The candidate must demonstrate leadership skills, with strengths in the areas of strategic thinking, financial modelling, business writing, assessing business risks and displaying the ingenuity and tenacity to successfully deliver projects and proposals.
-MBA degree is desirable.
-Construction Materials Sectoral Experience
