We are transforming the way we price and you will play a key role in defining our segment pricing strategy. You will own the pricing strategy for a specific segment and work together with product management, R&D and sales to define the go-to-market strategy as well.Join us and be a part of our global pricing journeyPricing strategy is a new function in Hempel. We are a new and growing team which means that there are plenty of opportunities to shape your own future and take charge in creating best in class pricing practices.In our Strategic Pricing team we work closely together with product management, global pricing and sales functions to support and enable them in achieving our product sales’ targets, win business and grow Hempel, and we play a key role in product lifecycle management.How will your contribution impact our business and our future?In this position you will support the Global Strategy Pricing Manager in the continued development of our value based pricing method and our segment pricing strategy. You will be the first point of contact for product management teams in all pricing related matters. Your will play an important role in product launches and in defining go-to-market strategies at global level and guiding pricing teams towards local pricing execution. Furthermore you will:Drive pricing analysis by product family to understand pricing dynamics: price effectiveness, competitors’ movements, price increases, customer and industry trends.Own value price positioning for all our assortment globally within a segment together with Product Management.Manage Product Profitability for assigned portfolio.Set Pricing and margin objectives and ensure its achievementContinue improving and enhancing our value based approach across product value drivers and also across service value drivers.Take pricing actions to enhance profitabilityOwn performance of assigned segment in terms of revenue, contribution and price performance across product groupsExpand producing pricing logic towards end-to-end pricing.Define the price position strategy across customer classifications, segments and channels.Be the superuser of our pricing method tool (Pros Control).You will be joining our new Strategic Pricing team located in Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark or Polinya, Spain but will support pricing and sales colleagues working across different locations. You should expect some travel, around 10-20 international travel days per year.We are looking for professionals who thrive in setting and executing pricing strategies and dealing with complex problemsWe expect you to have experience with pricing (min 5 years) and having owned strategy for at least three years. We expect you to have an educational background in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Finance or Business. You must have strong analytical skills and excellent numerical abilities with a commercial mindset to generate insights and drive actions. We also expect the following from you:Have knowledge of Pros Control – Price Optimization Software is a significant advantageProven experience with solving complex business problemsCritical thinking and ability to translate effectively to execution planningStrong financial focus and skill to drive profitable choicesStrong system and data analytics tools and acumen to make informed decisionsAbility to structure, analyse and communicate findings of a large amount of data in a timely mannerSuperuser in MS Office and especially Excel. Experience in python, SQL and experimentation techniques an advantage.As a person, you are curious and proactive by nature; you find it natural to ask “why or why not?” and will not only the challenge status quo when you see room for improvement but also come up with solutions and suggestions to tackle those challenges.
