PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Stores Technician is responsible but not limited to for the day-to-day operation of the Engineering stores. Maintaining appropriate levels of stock of all operational materials and supplies Including any critical supplies that may be held off site, inventory control and records, purchasing, and related duties as required.

The primary tasks, duties, and responsibilities that commonly make up the this role are listed below but not limited to the following:

  • Take delivery of all incoming materials, equipment (in house and external suppliers) and reconcile with purchase orders.

  • Track, document, and resolve any discrepancies on received orders.

  • Ensure accuracy of the facility’s inventory system by updating records of physical inventory totals, receipts, adjustments, and returns.

  • Manage inventory/supplies and ensure they are within the established minimum and maximum levels.

  • Keep up-to-date records of receipts, records, and withdrawals from the store of all tools, materials and equipment.

  • Responsible for packing, pricing, labelling, and returning supplies.

  • Responsible for stock rotation and coordinate the disposal of surpluses.

  • Oversee the handling of freight and the movement of equipment.

  • Managing and recording of access equipment register

  • Manage supplier relations and database as well as maintain high ethical relationships both internally and externally.

  • Support the create purchase orders and to perform low-value procurement activities.

  • Responsible for shipping cancelled or damaged items back to suppliers as appropriate.

  • Guarantee that materials with special handling storage or distribution requirements, such as hazardous or temperature sensitive material are properly monitored

  • Working within a team environment under high pressure situations and delegating work to others

  • Knowledge of CMMS systems are desirable but not essential.

  • Safe storage of any solvents / COSHH assessments of stored liquids.

  • Management and distribution of critical spares

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that spares required for Planned Preventative Maintenance & Corrective Maintenance is stock in order to ensure that all assets are maintained in a timely manner to ensure business continuity.

  • Ensure that own training records are kept up to date and accurate to compile with Health & Safety, Building Compliance and Quality Assurance, and support any updates that may be required.

  • Ensure that suppliers perform to meet the requirement of the contract.

  • Liaison with CBRE procurement team to manage supply partners that regularly supply spares to the business.

  • Ensure that equipment/tool faults and defects are swiftly reported and repaired to maintain plant in serviceable order at all times.

  • Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and corrective works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.

  • To maintain & develop good client relationships to gain best prices and leadtimes.

  • Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment and report any non-conformance to prevent a potential risk.

  • Ensure a professional image of CBRE is presented to clients and visitors

  • Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed as appropriate.

  • Undertake other tasks as defined and requested by local management.

  • Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI’s/SLA’s

  • Ensure the Computer Based Maintenance system, e.g. EAM, SAP, Concept, etc is kept up to date

  • To arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns.

  • To undertake lone working when and where required, subject to passing satisfactory training.

  • To ensure tasks as directed are completed with the appropriate H&S at the forefront.

  • To support other local client sites as required to ensure total business continuity across the account.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Preferably be an apprenticed trained engineer who has recognized technical qualifications in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Good all-round knowledge of building services and health & safety within a critical pharmaceutical environment.

  • A good understanding of stores procedures, logistics and safety requirements within a highly regulated environment.

  • Exhibit at all times an awareness of safety procedures and practices.

  • Show diligence in safe working Methods both for CBRE staff and occupants of the premises we are working in.

  • Recognised Health and Safety qualification (such as IOSH or NEBOSH).
