Our GRI Standards are used by over 10,000 companies each year, including 78% of the largest 250 in the world to identify and manage their impacts.We are seeking a Standards Manager for a 4-6 month maternity leave replacement. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of our leading sustainability reporting standards and join a dynamic, fast-growing, sector-leading international organization at the forefront of sustainability reporting.The development of the Labor and Climate Standards is underway, with a focus on addressing the comments received during public commenting period and global outreach with stakeholders. Your tasks will involve researching the comments related to relevant topics and sectors, setting up and facilitating multi-stakeholder group meetings of technical experts focused on specific related content areas, and translating this input into technical content for the final reporting standard.You will also be responsible for managing the next steps of the public consultation processes and other engagement processes to solicit stakeholder input for the development of each GRI Standard, and for liaising directly with the Global Sustainability Standards Board (GSSB), GRI’s designated standard-setting body, to obtain approval of the final Standard.You will support either the labor or climate change project teams in developing the relevant GRI Global Sustainability Reporting Standards. You will work closely with global experts on these topics. It is not a requirement to be an expert in the specific topic but it is your role to draw out and synthesize multi-stakeholder points of view, providing a unique opportunity to expand your knowledge on the topics you focus on.Responsibilities

  • Support or lead standards development projects as per the Standards Division’s work program.
  • Manage the implementation of all related workstreams/projects, including budgetary responsibilities.
  • Perform research on relevant topics and draft the technical content of Standards.
  • Proactively, timely, and effectively communicate with relevant actors with which the Global Sustainability Standards Board (GSSB) is maintaining and developing strategic relationships.
  • Develop detailed project proposals and documents in preparation of project-related briefings.
  • Provide input to the ongoing development of the GRI Standards and related documents and communications.
  • Maintain relationships, focused on future project options and programs.
  • Write departmental documents and senior-level correspondence.
  • Identify and develop new possibilities and take initiatives within the area of responsibilities.
  • Prepare for and attend events of the Standards Division and GRI departments.
  • Act as spokesperson for the Standards Division, when and where this responsibility has been delegated.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 to 4 years of proven experience in managing extended projects – including planning, execution, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Previous experience in writing technical content
  • Technical knowledge or experience in (ESG or CSR) reporting and standards processes
  • Experience in sustainability reporting related to climate, energy, or labor is welcome
  • Knowledge of sustainability issues and familiarity with the sustainable development agenda
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and attention to detail, including experience delivering presentations and facilitating workshops or training sessions
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, additional language is an advantage
  • Results focused with the ability to handle multiple tasks and work to precise deadlines
  • Proficient in working with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and CRM.
  • Existing professional home office setup, including a dedicated desk or workspace that is ergonomic and includes a comfortable and adjustable chair, adequate lighting, and reliable internet connection ensuring effective work from home.
  • Results-focused with the ability to handle multiple tasks and work to precise deadlines.
  • Experience in delegation of tasks to colleagues along with appropriate supervision.
  • Ability to work in an international and multi-cultural setting.
  • Affinity with the mission of GRI.
