Are you ready to jump onboard?We are looking for a(Sr.) Engineer Propulsion Innovationwithin Marine Propulsion and decarbonisation development.The location for the position is in Drunen, the Netherlands.What will you be doing?You are part of an internal cross functional team on Propulsion innovations from Research and Funding through Prototype. If you are enthusiastic about protecting our environment, please join a growing team of like-minded individuals as we decarbonize this planet!Our projects are carried out within multidisciplinary teams (Hydrodynamics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Innovation and Project Management) spread over our main offices in Drunen (The Netherlands), Rubbestadneset (Norway) and Finland (Helsinki). The responsibilities of this role:

  • Secure successful and value-creating research funding aligned with our strategic development agenda & projects.
  • Developing new concepts for propulsion to secure market share.
  • Create project proposals and apply project management best practices.
  • Meeting customers and give external presentations to investigate needs and specifications to meet market demands.
  • Following industry trends and doing competitor screening.
  • Taking ownership with a strong drive for innovation and potential business value.

To be successful in this role we expect you to have:

  • Relevant academic background (BSc or MSc) with preferably a track record in Innovation or R&D work.
  • Experience in technology innovation, planning, strategy development, project management.
  • Relevant technical knowledge, such as hydrodynamical, structural, electrical, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills, understanding of complex issues, the ability to quickly absorb information, conceptual and creative problem-solving excellence.
  • Can-do attitude, proactive thinking/doing, being able to navigate complex networks of stakeholder relationships internally and externally with diverse cultural understanding and comfortable working with global teams.
  • Exposure to service design or design thinking methods.
  • Drive – enjoys a challenge, proven ability to adapt and remove obstacles to achieve results, determination, and optimism.
  • Strong facilitation skills to build alignment to drive decision making and action.
  • Strong team player with a high degree of flexibility and positive communication that motivates and influences achievement of team objectives.
  • Strong understanding of system design for assemblies or installations.
  • Effective communicator who can build influence and commitment from other stakeholders with first class written and verbal English communication skills; the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions in a simple, logical and impactful manner.

You have an advantage if you have:

  • Know-how of funding instruments on EU and national level.
  • Know-how in applying for patents.
  • Basic experience with strength / fatigue analysis.
