The position

As our Senior Director Commercial Affairs & Strategy, you will be at the heart of Novo Nordisk’s future growth and success. You will spearhead strategic initiatives, long term planning, collaborate across all tiers of the commercial structure to pinpoint business prospects, and guide a team in seizing pivotal opportunities within the realm of Diabetes, Obesity and Rare Disease including new therapy area development and business development. You will play a crucial role in BAMEAC’s strategic ambition “Go Beyond” for 2026 by executing our strategic priorities, preparing for new launches within the affiliates, fostering innovation through adept cross-functional collaboration.

Your core responsibilities will be:

-Developing and implementing BAMEAC portfolio strategy and providing guidance to Affiliates, elevating their commercial capabilities as the affiliates grow in maturity.
-Leading all aspects of BAMEAC Market Access, including tendering, contracting, pricing, health economics, and evidence generation.
-Guiding affiliates in the business area on incentive schemes and KPIs, dedicated Commercial Effectiveness assessments and consulting on optimal share of voice, field force sizing and resource allocation.
-Develop commercial organizational capabilities, drive talent development, and optimize resource allocation across the business area.
-Foster innovation, simplicity, and agility in the organization, driving diversity and inclusion initiatives for sustainable business success.
 

Qualifications

-You have a Master’s degree or other relevant academic background in business, economics or related field.
-At least 10 years pharmaceutical industry experience in commercial setting and deep understanding of marketing, developing strategies and executing on strategic management level.
-Proven experience working in several geographies in similar roles within a multinational company with a matrix organization.
-Excellent leadership skills and a good eye for people development are essential.
-Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, facilitating seamless collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

You are a strong collaborator and communicator, capable of driving conversations with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at senior level. Business Area Middle East, Africa and Commonwealth of Independent States (BAMEAC) is responsible for Novo Nordisk’s operations in 73 diverse countries with a combined population of about 1.3 billion people. From our Business Area office in Istanbul, we guide and provide functional support to affiliate General Managers and more than 900 colleagues.
