Job summaryWe have an exciting opportunity for an experienced dietitian to join our team to support Upper GI oncology and Gastro. This role has a mix of inpatient and outpatient work with the opportunity to run a Dietitian led coeliac service and support Upper GI oncology patients through the surgical pathway. The role includes line management responsibility for a band 6 Upper GI Oncology Dietitian.We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic dietitian, with excellent communication and leadership skills and the ability to work well as part of a well established MDT team.Additional contact informationDonna Garcia – Therapy Lead for Dietetics[email protected]This role requires HCPC Registration.Base Location: Royal Bournemouth HospitalInterview Date: TBCMain duties of the jobYou will be a member of the UHD Dietetics Department, which consists of 25+ dietitians working across Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch Hospitals within a variety of specialties that include Diabetes, Paediatrics and Bariatrics. - Clinical supervisory skills training
ExperienceEssential
- Post registration experience in a range of dietetic areas, including oncology patients and pancreatic/bowel surgery patients
- Experience of delivering training and presentations
- Experience of managing and supervising junior dietetic staff and student dietitians
- Experience of teaching and giving presentations to a group of patients
- Experience of working autonomously within an MDT taking a lead dietetic role
- Able to negotiate effectively with other disciplines
- Experience in service development, audit and clinical governance issues
