Job DescriptionAre you an experienced Mathematics Teacher (QTS or ETC) with affinity and/or interest working amongst pupils with a range of autistic & behavioural needs? Pertemps are offering a paid-to-scale (up to £47000 base) Permanent Teacher of Mathematics role to start as soon as possible in 2024 or following notice period.We are happy to partner alongside an Independent Special School in Southampton focusing towards the Education & Intervention for pupils with diagnosed High Functioning Autism Spectrum Condition & Social Emotional Mental Health behaviour needs. The school boasts an Outstanding Ofsted report, which is an excellent expression of the schools approach to learning and competency. To achieve Outstanding within SEND is an excellent hallmark of potential, let alone amongst the realms challenging behaviour.Currently the school works around 50 dedicated pupils between the ages of 11 and 19, with developments across the school year aiming for double that by September 2024. This means classroom count is small, with a high support ratio.The post is Full Time Monday to Friday, and honours the national Teaching payscale.Pertemps ideal candidate would:Have a passion for working with children and young people.Has worked within an SEN setting (not absolutely essential if you hold the resilience and drive to learn)Have excellent communication skills (Team Responsability & Delegation)Understands the value of accurate time management and organisational skillsA self motivated ‘can-do’ attitude to work and to lifeHave a secure understanding of safeguarding children and equalityBe reliable, resilient with an excellent attendance recordBe looking to working alongside a team of like minded individuals, with a valued pathway to education at the very heart of what you do on a daily basisBe available to visit for a tour, a good chat, and interview over November or December 2023OPEN TO PART TIME APPLICANTS ALSO!
Pertemps expectations of accreditation or experience:

• QTS (PGCE) or Early Careers Teachers (ECT’s) are ideal and will be preferred.

• Unqualified or Instructor Level candidates familiy with the SEN Mathematics curriculum WOULD be considered, especially as interim solutions. If you got on extremely well, the school would consider you for a Permanent & Salaried role after an initial temporary period.

• Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4

• Bachelors Degree or evidence of Higher Education Training
