Job Description

As a Specialist Application Engineer, you will support Infineon’s customers by providing technical expertise and guidance, especially in safety-critical applications. You’ll work closely with customers and engineers to solve problems, share knowledge, and ensure customer satisfaction.

In your new role you will:

• Be the go-to-person for your worldwide customers and Infineon’s Field Application Engineers analyzing and answering technical requests and repeating findings in the lab
• Be responsible for enabling our customer’s applications in Functional Safety using Infineon’s microcontrollers
• Support Functional Safety design-in for our customers with detailed product expertise of Infineon’s 32bit microcontrollers
• Compile technical concepts and application documentation
• Strive to constantly and consistently exceed our customers’ expectations by providing technical support from product to system-level, application demonstrators, including Functional Safety
• Conduct development and feasibility studies on embedded software applications
• Collaborate and share your knowledge with R&D.

Please note that we offer an external temporary contract of 1 year with the possibility for future conversion into a permanent one.

Your Profile

You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, thriving in highly motivated team environments. Your proactive and dynamic approach allows you to actively listen to customers, valuing their perspectives, thoughts, and ideas, and enabling you to effectively balance their requirements with Infineon’s interests. Your strong problem-solving skills empower you to remain focused on achieving effective solutions, consistently striving for continuous improvement.

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

• A degree in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Science, ideally with a focus on Functional Safety aspects of embedded systems
• Basic knowledge of automotive microcontrollers and ISO26262 standards
• Knowledge of embedded systems and C language is a plus
• Availability to travel occasionally
• Fluency in English.
