Specialist Admissions Assessor

Location: Scale PO3/PO4, A£36,220.38 – A£41,497.51 per annum inclusive of London Weighting Allowance (FTE A£42,836 – A£49,077)

Salary: Sutton

Working Pattern: 36 hours per week, Term Time + 2 weeks

With nine vibrant, community-based centres across London and Surrey, their dedicated teams deliver tailored programmes for over 400 students, empowering them to achieve their goals and gain independence.

Their students have diverse needs, including profound and multiple learning disabilities, communication and behavioural challenges, and specific medical requirements. At the College, each student’s learning programme is uniquely designed to support their aspirations and promote their independence within the community.

The Role

They are looking to recruit a Specialist Admissions Assessor to join their team.

In this role, you will assess the curriculum, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), therapy, and nursing needs of their students. You will oversee the assessment process, ensuring a consistent and efficient approach across all services, and help identify appropriate programmes for students, informing pricing and placement decisions.

You will also lead the implementation of their funding banding system, which includes the costs of all student support and equipment. Additionally, you will ensure all students have a positive post-college destination, with follow-ups to track their progress.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and supervise the assessment process across curriculum, therapy, and nursing needs.
* Ensure consistent and efficient assessment approaches.
* Implement and manage the funding banding system.
* Ensure positive post-college destinations for students, with follow-ups.

Skills and Qualifications

* Minimum of a Level 3/4 qualification
* Qualified Teacher (QTS or (QTLS)
* TO have a detailed understanding of Educational Health Care plans and the associated guidance
* Demonstrate strong knowledge on specific disciple packages and working model
* Proven experience working with students with SEND in a mainstream educational setting
* Strong understanding of SEND legislation, policies and best practices
* High-level communication skills and effective influencing of others through clear oral, written communication, personal presentations and report writing
