Our large SEN school in Haywards Heath is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who require tailored support in their learning journey.Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-time)

Start Date: AsapKey Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to children with SEN, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance and encouragement in their educational development.
  • Assist teachers in implementing tailored learning strategies and lesson plans.
  • Support the social, emotional, and behavioural development of students.
  • Help with the preparation and adaptation of learning resources and materials.
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive, and positive classroom environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is essential.
  • A patient, understanding, and empathetic approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and parents.
  • A proactive and flexible attitude to meet the diverse needs of the children.
  • Due to the rural location of the school, it is essential that you drive and have access to your own transport.

Experience, Training and Qualifications

  • GCSE’s or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year working with children
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

Eligibility

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
