This role involves directing local controllers, coordinating the statutory audits, managing local tax processes, and analyzing financial data to identify risks and opportunities. The Financial Controller will also be responsible for team management and maintaining effective communication with various stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:Coordinate Local Controllership:Lead and oversee monthly accounting procedures, ensuring timely completion and accuracy of financial results, including balance sheet and P&L reviews.Coordinate and facilitate the work of local teams with the Corporate Shared Services teams (JBS) to assure quality and service delivery.Ensure adherence to Group finance and U.S. GAAP accounting policies, including revenue and expense recognition, compensation arrangements, leases, and foreign currency translation.Lead ad-hoc requirements or assessments with Local controllers.Coordinate the implementation and delivery of new projects from Global or JBS teams, ensuring local team involvement.Accounting and Auditing:Coordinate and participate in statutory audits with external auditors, including the preparation of financial statements.Support local controllers for the purposes of statutory filings under local GAAP.Review and participate in tax processes and local requirements (e.g., VAT, CIT, WHT), coordinating with local teams and EMEA tax team.Coordinate with COE Revenue team to provide guidance and insight to the business as applicable.Oversee the control environment and ensure robust controls and procedures are designed and effectively operating, complying with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations.Participate in controller meetings (MEC and ad-hoc) to address accounting concerns, share best practices, and initiatives guided by EMEA regional finance team.Ensure completion of MEC procedures and certification of cluster results, SOX quarterly certification, confirmation of subsequent events, and other group requirements.Review reconciliations and internal processes by Local and JBS teams to ensure efficiency and share best practices to standardize procedures in the cluster.Analysis:Perform MEC procedures, including journal entry review and analytical procedures, at monthly closing.Review specific dashboards at the country level, perform a review of figures on P&L and balance sheet, and produce accurate commentaries on Tableau to assist BL analysis of monthly/quarter closing.Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities to company operations and financial results, with a high focus on the balance sheet.Collaborate with FP&A and Business Partner in each country for MEC reviews.Team Management:Coordinate Local Controllers in each of the countries and ensure acting as an integrated team.Establish relationships across the SIP countries, identifying JLL business lines and support functions.Establish relationships across Cluster finance, Regional, and Global Finance teams.Maintain Employees WorkDay profiles and provide approvals on the tool.Support the growth, learning and development of the local Controllership team.Skills/Competences:Degree in accounting, finance, or management.5-6 years of experience in auditing, preferably in a multinational enterprise environment.Deep understanding of accounting principles and ability to communicate key issues to finance, business support unit, and business leadership.Demonstrates experience in performing in-depth accounting research and analysis.Strong interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, the ability to build consensus, and leadership skills in a collaborative setting.Ability to maintain focus and balance in high-stress situations and extended periods of change.Experience working with shared services and multilocation is a plus.Analytical skills and advanced Excel user.Team player with excellent organization, communication, and negotiation skills.Strong knowledge of local tax requirements (e.g., VAT, CIT, WHT).Fluent in English.Location: Onsite – Madrid, Spain || Lisbon, Portugal || Milan, ItalyIf this job description resonates with you, we encourage you to apply, even if you don’t meet all the requirements.
