Job title:
Soil moisture assessment based on cosmic ray detection, Data analysis from detectors for CRNS (Cosmic Ray Neutron Sensing) , 2024_ASSEGNI_DENG_48
Company:
Job description
Offer DescriptionThe project moves from a consolidated literature that describes how the energy distribution of the neutron radiation field of cosmic origin is altered by the amount of humidity in the soil. The technique, called CRNS (Cosmic Ray Neutron Sensing) is extremely promising in the field of precision agriculture, especially where particularly dry climates make water resources precious. In this context, the research program is part of the European SoMMet (Soil Moisture Metrology) project financed under the Green Deal. Where possible, the technique will also be used in other contexts, such as finding leaks in water pipelines.Where to apply WebsiteRequirementsAdditional InformationEligibility criteriaRelevance of qualifications with the research programme object of selectionConsistency of the candidate’s overall profile with respect to the content of the research programme for selectionClose relevance of publications submitted with the research programme object of selectionEligible destination country/ies for fellows:
