About the Position:

We are looking for a Software Validation Engineer to join the Propulsion Software Validation Team.

This position is based at our office in Bologna.

As a Software Validation Engineer at Marelli, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining manual and automated tests and test frameworks for embedded software applications used in propulsion systems.

Your Responsibilities will be:

• Understanding of Software and system requirements and architectures
• Design of mid to high complexity test cases, based on Software requirements and related qualification criteria
• Testing strategy definition collaboration (e.g. for each case, stress the negative form, the border line condition…)
• Implementing mid to high complexity test cases in scripting language using out of the box methods
• For manual tests, issue test documentation with fully understandable test reports to ensure reproducibility of manual tests themselves
• For automated tests, issue test scripts documentation to ensure their understandability and maintainability
• Organize reviews for your implementation with other testers
• Participate and give input as reviewer for other testers
• Perform test runs and analyze results of the implemented test cases
• Train and/or offer support to other colleagues, act as mentor for new colleagues, both on product and on process items
• Ensure optimal task delivery
• Act as a Test coordinator for small projects

What Qualifications you will bring:

• Desired level of education: Bachelor / Master in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automatics
• Basic HW knowledge
• Software testing principles
• Microcontrollers and embedded systems
• Communication protocols in automotive applications (CAN, SPI, LIN)
• Software development life cycle
• Matlab/Simulink/Steflow, Python, CAPL, CC++ or other programming languages
• Basic ControlDesk/HIL knowledge, monitoring with measurement tools (Oscilloscope, multimeter…..)
• Good written and spoken English
