The activity of SIX domain: mission critical solutions and applications for assets and citizens security (supervision, control and information management systems) as well as cybersecurity. Thales offers solutions to protect the information systems and critical data of its civilian and military customers and helps its customers to detect and prevent cyberattacks by devising secure architectures from the design stage, overseeing these architectures and ensures that they are kept in secure working order. Italy is Thales Group’s competence centre for Airport security and operations management solutions.

We are seeking a skilled Software QA Engineer to join our Integration, Verification, Validation, and Qualification (IVVQ) team. In this role, you will ensure that integrated systems and software solutions meet their functional, performance, and quality standards. You will contribute to complex system integration projects, ensuring seamless operations and compliance with technical and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Integration, Verification, and Validation:

  • Collaborate with the IVVQ team to design and execute integration, verification, and validation plans.
  • Ensure seamless integration of software components within Kubernetes-based environments (in cloud and in cloud-on-prem)
  • Perform functional, regression, and performance testing to verify compliance with system and project requirements.
  • Generate detailed test reports and documentation to support the process

Qualification Testing:

  • Support qualification testing, even at customer site, to certify that systems meet operational and regulatory standards.

Software Integration Testing:

  • Test and validate integrations between Java-based software modules, subsystems, and third-party components.
  • Conduct end-to-end workflow testing across microservices and Kubernetes-based platforms.

Defect Management:

  • Identify, document, and track defects through resolution, ensuring root cause analysis and retesting.
  • Collaborate with developers from the Product team to resolve issues

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work with software engineers, DevOps and project engineering teams to ensure alignment on integration and testing objectives.
  • Provide regular updates to project stakeholders on testing progress, challenges, and outcomes.
  • Support technical discussion with customer stakeholders

Compliance & Standards:

  • Ensure that all integration, verification, and validation efforts adhere to industry standards and best practices.
  • Stay updated on the latest tools and methodologies for testing

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of 2 years’ experience with software full stack development, software-system integration, software deployment

QUALIFICATION & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduated with a Master’s degree of an Engineering School (Electronics, Aeronautical/Space Engineering, Computer Science, …) or in University
  • Proven experience in software quality assurance, system integration, and IVVQ processes.
  • Good knowledge of component testing, test automation, test management
  • Understanding of the Engineering Project Management Principles 
  • Basic coding skills, including the ability to write, debug, and maintain test scripts.
  • Proficiency in testing APIs, middle-ware solutions, and micro-services.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines in containerized environments and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA).
  • Leadership skills and eager to mentor and help develop junior team members and achieve customer satisfaction

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Proficiency in for managing and testing containerized applications (Helm based deployment)
  • GitOps expertise
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Katalon, JUnit, Postman), testing frameworks (JMeter, Karate, Gatling, Selenium) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
  • Networking knowledge
  • Linux administration
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and distributed testing environments.
  • Experience with database systems and SQL for integration and data validation.
  • Understanding of real-time or mission-critical systems testing.
  • Certifications in Kubernetes (e.g., CKA, CKAD) or Java (e.g., OCP Java SE).
