Above all, you are someone who takes initiative and thinks like an owner – you’ve defined your everywhere and lead others to find theirs all while launching Visa ahead of the game.The Work itself:Collaborates with stakeholders on project requirements, incorporates feedback, guides juniors, verifies assumptions, escalates design issues, clarifies timelines, understands team’s solutions, and communicates potential risks.Designs product components following guidance, refines code plans, contributes to design documentation, and understands non-functional requirements using provided designs.Participates in project estimation, escalates potential delays, and collaborates with team members for solution delivery.Mentors others, develops maintainable code for a product, applies coding and security best practices, uses debugging tools for issue prevention, participates in code reviews, screens for coding patterns, and addresses pull requests requiring technical knowledge.Creates test plans, identifies required tests and tools, interprets test results to achieve business objectives, identifies and contains defects in software code to prevent customer impact, and prepares findings from testing teams to share with stakeholders.Responds to incidents during on-call rotations, troubleshoots common issues, deploys fixes, alerts teams to major issues, and escalates complex issues affecting multiple components to other engineers under appropriate guidance.Leverages software developer tools for code maintenance, identifies useful tools for product creation, stays aware of tools outside areas of expertise, and invests in staying current with training resources to improve product performance.Essential FunctionsThe Skills You Bring:Energy and Experience: A growth mindset that is curious and passionate about technologies and enjoys challenging projects on a global scaleChallenge the Status Quo: Comfort in pushing the boundaries, “hacking” beyond traditional solutionsLanguage Expertise: Expertise in one or more general development languages (e.g., Java, Javascript/Typescript, Python)Builder: Experience building and deploying modern services and web applications with quality and scalability

Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.QualificationsBasic Qualifications
– 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experiencePreferred Qualifications3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or more that 2 years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
Front-End: Knowledge of and ability to develop front-end code (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript) in support of product development. This includes the extension of capabilities of solutions or products.
User Interface Design: Knowledge of user interface design, which is the interaction where users and computers interact. This includes an understanding of how to provide an optimal industrial design experience through User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) Design.
Back-end: Knowledge of and ability to develop back-end (e.g., Javascript for NodeJS, Python, Java) code in support of solution and product development. This includes the extension of capabilities of solutions and products.
API (Application Program Interfaces) Generation: The ability to develop and utilize Application Program Interfaces (APIs), a set of routines, protocols, and tools for building software applications that specify how software components should interact and are used when programming graphical user interface (GUI) components. An API may be for a web-based system, operating system, database system, computer hardware, or software library.
Experience on application development on Linux is required.
Experience in applying modern Agile Software Development practices is required.
Experience with database technologies like MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB.
Knowledge and working experience on Git/Stash, Ant, Maven, Jenkins, CI/CD and Jira.
Be equally passionate about technology and solving large-scale complex business problems.
Be an established self-starter who possesses a relentless drive to initiate change, raise the technical bar and deliver results.
Have expert knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle.
Be equally content prototyping and tinkering with new applications as well operating within the rigor of making solutions production-ready.
