OS & VirtualizationOS & Virtualization is a new department within Vestas Power Solutions, responsible for developing and maintaining all operation systems used across the whole portfolio of Vestas Wind Turbines and Vestas Power Plant products.The OS & Virtualization Sub Module comprises a team of highly skilled software engineers whose main responsibility was previously focused on RTOS for the turbine controllers. But now, your scope has expanded to include all OSes and Virtualization within the power plant.The Sub modules are organized within three primary domains:OS for the turbineOS & Virtualization for the SCADA and Power plant controllerLifecycle managementAs a Software Engineer in OS & Virtualization, you will be part of a diverse and international organization working closely together with colleagues in DK and Vestas Design Centre in Porto.ResponsibilitiesDesigning embedded software and firmware solutions for Wind turbinesWork collaboratively in a high-performance environment that rewards ownershipImplementing full software development lifecycle, including code review and unit testingWrite well-designed and testable codeBe committed to writing and updating comprehensive technical documentation and maintaining softwareMaintaining and troubleshooting hardware and software issuesEnsuring compliance with security and data protection regulationsBe engaged during the functional and software requirements definitionQualificationsBachelors or Masters in IT or Electronics from a premier institute with 1-5 years of industry experienceCan work autonomously, purposefully and manage large projectsThinks it is fun to improve your skills in new technologies and projectsCompetenciesYou have:Advanced programming skills in C and C++Programming skills in scripting languages Ruby/Python/BashExperience with Linux operating systemsExperience with multithreading software developmentYou should have:Experience with Jenkins, GIT, JIRA and other Atlassian toolsExperience with SCRUM and Agile MethodologiesExperience in real-time embedded systemsBasic knowledge of network protocols, RTOS and DevOpsWhat We OfferWe offer an exciting job with excellent opportunities for professional and personal development in an inspiring and positive learning environment at the pioneering producer of wind turbines.
