The Role

Condé Nast Italy is looking for a talented Social Media Manager to lead the social strategy and social posting of Vogue Italia’s social channels. As part of a community of global Vogue Social Media Managers and Audience Development Managers, this person will be embedded with the Vogue Italia content team and play a key role in overseeing social storytelling and content distribution, as well as executing daily posting and scheduling on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and other platforms. With a proven history of growing social audiences and knowledge of analytical tools, this person has a strong journalistic sense, an eye for powerful visuals, strong writing skills, social storytelling skills and understands the Vogue voice. They understand how data can inform a smart editorial and social strategy, and are expert at juggling multiple projects, managing deadlines, distilling social numbers into actionable insights and advocating for strong social content across the organisation. The main goals of this role are to drive traffic to Vogue.it as well as building and fostering strong, engaged off-platform audiences

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Manage day-to-day posting, editing and optimization of content on multiple social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter
  • Master Vogue Italia’s editorial voice and tone, which may be different between platforms
  • Select imagery, video and visual content that engages audiences
  • Plan, design and implement successful social strategies on cover reveals, tentpoles (such as Oscars, Met Gala) and global and local stories 
  • Adapt and realise the Global Vogue social strategy locally, based on local market conditions and culture
  • Work with the global social storytelling team to ensure the best storytelling for the Vogue Italy accounts
  • Brainstorm new ideas and plan rollout strategies for testing with the audience development team
  • Adjust social strategy according to KPI pacing and report on any wins and losses
  • Report on content performance and present social insights and best practices to various stakeholders
  • Work with video teams on social storytelling packages
  • Execute on best-in-class social storytelling, gathering assets from different teams
  • Seamlessly integrate with Content/Edit and guide teams daily on story positioning (for Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, for example)
  • Manage social swaps with internal Conde Nast brands, other Vogue teams, as well as external partners
  • Work with the commerce team to strategize ways to increase traffic (and therefore revenue) to commerce content
  • Collaborate with the Sales team for the implementation of sponsorships through social media

Primary Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Social Media Manager, preferably for a company in the Media, Creative and Fashion industries
  • Italian mother tongue with professional working proficiency in English
  • Ability to identify and select powerful images and videos
  • Strong writing skills for captions, headlines and visual storytelling
  • Strong editorial judgement, with a passion for the topics and the tone of voice proposed by Vogue Italia
  • Community management experience
  • Excellent organisational skills, focus, and attention to detail
  • An established ability to synthesise and communicate information quickly
  • Experience with video editing and asset creation
  • Able to work outside standard working hours (occasional evenings and weekends) 
  • Experience in working on social engagement strategies for video and audio
  • Good understanding of social media analytics and how data can inform a successful editorial and social strategy
  • Experience of working cross-culturally is a plus
