37 hours per week (part-time applications will also be considered)This is an exciting opportunity for a registered physiotherapist to join the Department of Allied Health Professions, Sport and Exercise as a Skills Educator. We are seeking to grow the podiatry team by introducing this new post to support clinical skills teaching.The Department is one of four Departments in the School of Human and Health Sciences. The Department currently offers a wide range of excellent educational provision across six allied health professions, midwifery, public health and sport. It’s home to a large number of apprenticeships, pre-registration and post-graduate courses. From 2025, the Department will also offer dental hygiene and diagnostic radiography courses which makes this a particularly exciting time to join the School.The University of Huddersfield is a thriving University and our excellent facilities are expanding from September 2024 with state-of-the art teaching, research and clinical facilities on the National Health Innovation Campus, which podiatry will be part of.We have a diverse student body and professional partnerships with health and social care and education partners. In 2023, the University achieved TEF Gold award and its apprenticeship provision was graded as “Outstanding” by Ofsted.Bringing recent UK-based podiatry practice experience to this post, you will join us to deliver clinical skills education, primarily to podiatry students, but this may include students on other courses. Experience of working with apprentices is advantageous, and it is essential that you have good collaborative and interprofessional working skills.Commitment to an innovative student-centred learning experience is essential. You should have knowledge of contemporary podiatry practice and awareness of developments and changes in healthcare education. With a degree in Podiatry, you will be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a podiatrist. You should have Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy or have the capacity to obtain this within 12 months of appointment.This post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
