We specialize in creating solutions that help improve observability and enforce SLAs across all internal teams. We do all of this while maintaining Akamai’s mission to make life better for billions of people, trillions of times a day.Partner with the bestIn this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring smooth operation and up-time of our Compute services and infrastructure. You’ll supervise and maintain our critical infrastructure and collaborate with our operations and development teams to create tooling and software that monitors and improves the reliability of our systems.As a Site Reliability Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

• Monitoring the functioning and performance of the networking infrastructure via Prometheus metric systems and Grafana dashboards
• Investigating and troubleshoot networking problems within Linux based networking stack
• Solving complex problems in a timely and accurate manner and avoid recurrence through proactive troubleshooting, automation, and systems programming
• Collaborating across Akamai engineering organizations to resolve internal and customer escalations
• Participating in on-call rotations, guiding restoration and repair of service-impacting issues

Do what you loveTo be successful in this role you will:

• Have relevant academic or industrial experience and Bachelor diploma in Computer Science or related engineering field
• Have professional experience in a Site Reliability or System Engineering role, with large scale distributed systems
• Possess previous experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Nagios, Grafana, Loki, ELK, New Relic, or similar
• Show proficiency with configuration management tools such as Saltstack, Ansible, Terraform, and Jenkins
• Be comfortable with programming in Linux environments, such as python and bash scripting
• Have experience and knowledge with networking technologies such as routing, firewall and DNS
• Have experience with Linux and knowledge with L7 traffic management
• Be familiar with containerization technologies such as Docker or Podman and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Nomad)
