Silicon Photonics Design Expert (Italy)

We are looking for a highly skilled Silicon Photonics Design Expert to join our team in Italy and help shape the future of high-speed optical communication technologies. In this role, you will be at the forefront of innovation in silicon photonics, driving advancements in short-distance optical interconnects and coherent optical communication systems.

Key Responsibilities:

-Analyse and anticipate trends in optical communications to strengthen silicon photonics competitiveness
-Lead the definition of silicon photonic chip architectures for high-density optoelectronic and multi-material hybrid integration systems
-Drive breakthroughs in key active and passive component performance
-Lead joint optoelectronic design, including modulators, detectors, DRV/TIA co-optimization
-Optimise high-speed signal integrity in advanced 2.5D/3D packaging architectures
-Collaborate closely with solution, process, and packaging teams to ensure successful technology implementationRequired Experience:

-5+ years of silicon photonics design experience with proven product and tape-out success
-Strong expertise in active/passive optical design and high-speed signal integrity modelling
-Experience in high-density optoelectronic integration and chip co-design (preferred)
-Exposure to advanced packaging for silicon photonics products (preferred)
-Strong understanding of silicon photonics technology trends and roadmap development
-Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multicultural teams
-Fluent in English and open to international travel
