When you join the NCI Agency, you will be part of an organization where you can contribute authentically to the mission and purpose of NATO and help us keep our technological edge.About the job:Based in Braine L’Alleud, Belgium you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. You will join the NATO Digital Workplace Centre (NDWC), which is responsible for the Digital Workplace, covering operational NATO services, across all content classifications and security domains, for desktop computing, mail, instant messaging, video teleconference (VTC), content services platforms, telephony, printing and mobility services. NDWC responsibilities also cover the support of digital events, meetings and large-scale conferences for both the Agency and NATO stakeholders. NDWC also has the responsibility for driving the future roadmaps of these services across the NATO Enterprise to enable a NATO Digital Workplace through new services.We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Service Engineer who will take on the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering and operations support to Workplace Services in the area of Managed Devices and Print/Scan/Copy services throughout the services lifecycle and conduct coordination and communication between support and service provider;
  • Serve as the highest level of technical escalation for complex issues related to managed client devices (Windows, macOS, iOS, etc.) and enterprise print secure follow-me solution;
  • Analyse and resolve complex hardware and software problems, collaborating with Level 1 and Level 2 support teams to provide timely resolutions;
  • Investigate and troubleshoot advanced network connectivity, performance, and security-related issues affecting managed devices and print services;
  • Design, develop, and implement innovative solutions to optimize device management, enhance security, and improve end-user experience;
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure, security, and application teams, to ensure seamless integration and support of managed devices and print services;
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide timely response and resolution to critical incidents outside regular business hours.

  • Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in Engineering, IT Communications, Computer Sciences, or related discipline with 2 years post-related experience in IT Systems Management. Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate’s particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCIA, that is at least 6 years extensive and progressive expertise related to the function of the post;
  • Extensive knowledge and proven experience of managing Windows Server and Windows client Operating Systems in large distributed environment (more than 10 000 endpoints);
  • Extensive knowledge and proven experience in using Microsoft Windows environment technologies (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, MECM (former SCCM));
  • Sound knowledge in Microsoft Intune device management;
  • Sound knowledge in user authentication methods (2FA, AAA);
  • Deep understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security practices relevant to managed devices and printers (OSI, TCP/IP, VPN, SNMP);
  • Extensive knowledge in security technologies and concepts (PKI, least privilege, data at rest, data in transit protection);
  • Knowledge and experience related to design, implementation, operation, maintenance, support, configuration and administration of Windows clients in large distributed environment;
  • Experience and knowledge in design, implementation, operation, maintenance, support, configuration and administration of large distributed secure follow-me print solutions;
  • Experience in configuration, monitor and troubleshoot managed multifunctional devices (print/scan/copy) in large distributed environment preferably using uniFLOW;
  • Valid Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) in either Windows client or Windows Server;
  • Experience in coaching and supervising technical staff;
  • Experience in planning and coordination upgrades, patches, service interruptions with multiple teams including remote locations;
  • Experience in drafting and maintaining system design documentation;
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
