Job Description Summary At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Company, we’ve been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for engine and mechanical transmissions applied to both civil and military aviation (i.e., accessory drivetrains, engine thermal management, turboprop & helicopter reduction gearboxes, etc.).
We’re reinforcing the Through Life Support Engineering team and competencies to support development and In-Service phases of high technology military and commercial programs. The team works in a dynamic and international environment and is creating strong relationship with most of Avio Aero sections (within and beyond Engineering), with other companies (acting as partner or suppliers) and with Government organizations.
The Through Life Support Engineer (TLSE) will define the optimized approach to plan and develop support for engines and/or components, in order to ensure the maximum availability and the minimum costs throughout entire lifecycle of the product, with a moderate autonomy in the role, guided by professional practices and policies.Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesDefine internal Through Life Support plan and integrate within Platform and Power and Propulsion System Program plansIdentify milestones and KPI’s to enhance service contracts profitabilityPromote, guarantee and enhance integration within the different Through Life Support disciplines: traditional areas (like Technical Documentation, Material Supply, Logistic Support Analysis, Preventive Maintenance, In Service data Feedback and Training) integrated with new concept (for example Digital Twin, prognostic and Predictive maintenance…)Set up and maintain integration between Through Life Support branches and others Engineering departments: constant and effective influence on design from TLSEstablish and improve integration and communication between Through Life Support disciplines and other departmentsPromote internal knowledge and diffusion of S-Series specifications as guidelines for Integrated Product SupportIdentify internal specialists and SME and lead inter functional teams aimed to support Through Life Support plan and requirementsIdentify S-Series Steering Committees critical to Avio Aero business and take active part to national and international working groupsDevelop specialized knowledge in the discipline, acting as best practice/quality resource with awareness of latest technical developments in own area.Contribute towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibilityUse judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in inter functional areasTake new perspective on existing solutions and use multiple sources to arrive at decisionsAct as a resource for colleagues with less experienceDevelop persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field​Qualifications/RequirementsMaster’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or collegeProven experience in Aerospace In Service businessGood interpersonal, leadership, and communication skillsClear thinking and diligent approachDemonstrated ability to lead programs / projectsAbility to document, plan, market, and execute programsAvailability to business travelFluency in English and ItalianWork Visa in accordance with local regulation, is requiredDesired CharacteristicsProven experience in Aerospace military In Service businessStrong influencing skills in a global environmentStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsDemonstrated ability to analyze and solve problemsEstablished project management skillsWhat we offerSmart working and work life-balanceAvio Aero, when possible, promotes smart work in hybrid mode, and encourages a good, healthy and satisfying work-life balance.
