For more information please visit https://www.se.manchester.ac.uk/.We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Senior Technician in Bioautomation and high-throughput analytics to join our dynamic technical operations team, which strives to provide a sector leading technical support for FSE and the wider University. With a commitment to customer service excellence and a passion for science and engineering, Senior Technician in High-throughput robotics and bioanalytics will provide an agile technical support service to staff and students to support teaching, research and professional services. FSE’s research and teaching quality is recognised globally; this is an exciting opportunity to join us in Manchester and contribute to the provision of a sector leading technical service.

  • We encourage enthusiastic people with experience in either automation or test analytics to apply as training is available for the right applicant
  • Help support users across numerous lab automation robotics platforms (Hamilton, Tecan, ECHO, Eppendorf, Qpix colony picker) and test analytics (e.g. UPLC, GC, GC-MS, NMR) technology platforms to help ensure smooth operation of high-throughput screening and assays for a range of biomolecular engineering projects.
  • Work with other multi-skilled technical and experimental staff from other technology platforms to help incorporate high-throughput techniques with other technologies.
  • Help in the operation of a range of high-throughput techniques and the development of standard operating procedures, protocols, standards and training workflows required for training programmes / workshops.
  • Support external industrial and academic users to help provide access to high-throughput technology platforms and methodologies.
