We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive senior technician to join our dynamic technical operations team, which strives to provide a sector leading technical support for the FSE and the wider University. With a commitment to customer service excellence and a passion for science and engineering, senior technicians will provide an agile technical support service to staff and students to support teaching, research, and professional services.The Advanced Manufacturing Platform builds upon the innovative, creative, practical and research capabilities of our enterprising technical staff. The platform aims to accelerate interdisciplinary research and teaching by recognising the intrinsic synergies in the experimental workflows of Natural Science and Engineering.

  • The Senior Technician will be required to support work based in the Advance Manufacturing platform, with specific focus on the laser manufacturing within the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
  • The Senior Technician will be responsible for the management of the laser manufacturing facilities answering to the Advanced Manufacturing platform senior technical specialist.
  • The Senior Technician is also expected to provide technical support to a range of advanced manufacturing equipment in the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
  • To work as part of a team including the Senior Technical Specialist (STS) and Technical Specialists (TS) in the Advanced Manufacturing platform.
