Senior Tax Consultant (Financial Services) 

In response to the evolving business model, the transformation of finance functions and the increasingly complex regulatory landscape, EY’s SLT (Studio Legale Tributario) is committed to provide the highest quality service to our financial clients, providing a range of domestic and international transactional tax planning services and tax-related advisory services. 

The opportunity 

We are now looking for an experienced Senior Tax professional to join our Global Compliance & Reporting team in Milan, focused on banking and insurance business. 

Our Global Compliance & Reporting (GCR) practice operates within SLT, focusing on helping clients effectively manage statutory and tax obligations proactively and responsibly. 

Our quality service and technical network enable you to help clients reduce inefficiencies, mitigate risk and drive process improvement within their finance and tax functions. We believe that by managing clients’ tax obligations we can make a critical difference and you’ll be at the heart of this mission. 

Key responsibilities

GCR assists in the design, implementation and operation of global record-to-report processes. 

Skills and attributes for success: 

Build and maintain tax relationships with clients and provide high levels of client service 

  • Build relationships both within the firm and externally with clients, identifying opportunities and managing expectations
  • Contribute to winning new work by proactively managing existing clients and contribute to winning new clients.
  • Manage the successful delivery of tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and practical/business driven approach taken
  • Responsible for day-to-day delivery of client liaison
  • Key member of one of the client service groups providing full tax services to a client portfolio.

To qualify for the role you must have 

  • Almost 2- 4 years of relevant working experience
  • Good understanding of financial environment is preferable
  • Ability to build strong client relationships
  • Excellent communicator in range of situations both written and oral
  • Client focused and commercially aware
  • Relationship management skills with ability to manage client expectations
  • Team player with ability to build effective relationships at all levels
  • Good fluency in English
