As a Senior Sustainability Engineer, you’ll lead the charge in transforming how we manage GHG emissions and other sustainability projects.   • Stay ahead of regulations related to GHG emissions and waste streams.
  • Support various projects, services, and activities within the department.
  • Work directly with clients to deliver our sustainability services.
  • Lead and manage client projects from start to finish.
  • Follow regulatory changes and update the team on their business impacts.
  • Develop new methodologies, tools, and services related to GHG emissions.
  • Conduct seminars and workshops on environmental performance.
  • Ensure service delivery across all regions.
  • Evaluate new service requirements and develop project plans.
  • Contribute to ABS publications and thought leadership documents.
  • Maintain awareness of ABS services and promote them when appropriate.
  • Provide insights on future business initiatives and market trends.
  • Build and maintain key client relationships.
  • Participate in events and conferences to enhance personal development and stay informed about market trends
  • Identify opportunities for marketing campaigns to boost sales.
  • Ability to work independently while also excelling and contributing effectively in a team environment.

What You Will Need:Education and Experience

  • Masters or PhD in one of the following fields: Environmental Sciences, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Several years of experience with a focus on environmental aspects and corporate sustainability
  • Previous experience in business development or sales in a technical and diverse product environment is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of marine/offshore applications, GHG regulations, and technology transitions.
  • Commercial understanding of the new-building process, yards, and chartering processes.
  • Must be capable of presenting and working with clients.
  • Develop business insights through research and analysis.
  • Ability to identify and provide regular updates and overviews on new leads and potential business opportunities.
  • Track, interpret and analyze emerging legislation that will affect the industry and draw up transition plans.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral & written), enabling effective communication at multiple levels.
  • Strong commitment to ethical business practices.
  • Familiarity with ABS Rules, Guides, and statutory regulations is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the Ships and Marine industry is an advantage.
