Senior Software EngineerWho You will work with:This is an excellent opportunity to join Cisco’s fastest growing product in DSE Routing group that champions new methodologies and creates scalable software solutions. We are looking for multiple experienced Software Engineers who can strive in a dynamic start up like environment, work with an expert and diverse team, participate in architecture design, software, and tools development across geographies.What will you do:As part of a diverse Cisco IOS XR team, you will play an integral part in software development process. A successful candidate for this role can be flexible, quickly learning new skills and taking responsibility for tasks and features. You will be solving new problems and tackling new challenges every day, with a focus on quality and attention to detail, supported by a team of fellow engineers to deliver new functionality and improvements to our customers. You will be developing a new feature or a fully automated test, investigating a problem, or using our test tools to ensure that our software is always high quality. Technology that you work in could be in Programmability, Routing Infra, etcWho are we looking for:

  • you hold a computer science engineering or equivalent bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree or a PhD
  • strong in data structures and algorithm
  • strong programming experience in C or C++
  • automation experience with Python / Go
  • you are flexible, curious, a problem solver and a team player who can quickly learn new skills and own the responsibilities

Nice to have:

  • experience in API programming, Routing, gRPC based services, network programming (TCP/IP), prior development experience in Cisco product is an added plus.
  • experience in complete software development cycle including automation is an added plus.

For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Individual pay is determined by the candidate’s hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
