Job Description:UE07: £39,347.00 – £46,974.00 Per Annum.CMVM / Edinburgh Research Centre.Open Ended Contract – Permanent.Full Time – 35 Hours Per Week.The Opportunity:An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Research Technician to join the Rheumatology research team at the Institute of Genetics and Cancer. The post holder will have extensive experience in skeletal joint biology and arthritis research, and enthusiasm to support an internationally competitive research programme which builds upon or shows synergy with those of other research groups at the University of Edinburgh. The post holder will also contribute to daily supervision of laboratory students.This is an open-ended (i.e. permanent) post and is full-time (35 hours per week).Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Extensive experience in skeletal joint biology and arthritis research, and with histology and microscopy techniques relevant to the area of research.
  • Ability to optimise and validate laboratory techniques.
  • Proven ability to contribute to writing manuscripts and reports.
  • Experience in the provision of day-to-day supervision of laboratory students.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
