Senior Regulatory Toxicologist – Impactful Role in Crop Protection

Location: Home Working / Remote – Any EU Country

Our client, a globally respected contract research organization and services provider with expertise in agrochemical testing and regulatory consulting, is seeking an experienced Senior Regulatory Toxicologist to join their team. This role involves steering regulatory strategies for the registration and renewal of plant protection products across Europe, working within a dynamic and supportive environment.

As a Senior Regulatory Toxicologist, you will play a crucial role in guiding clients through complex regulatory landscapes, ensuring compliance with European and member state regulations. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing testing strategies, conducting risk assessments, and preparing comprehensive dossiers for product registration and renewal.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide expert advice on the registration and renewal of active substances and crop protection products in line with Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 at European and national levels.
* Assess client data to ensure compliance with toxicological requirements, including conducting data gap analyses, risk assessments, exposure estimates, and product classification.
* Design and implement testing strategies to support experimental programs that meet regulatory standards.
* Monitor studies within and outside the organization, offering guidance on innovative and alternative testing approaches.
* Prepare dossiers for product registration and renewal, summarizing experimental findings and ensuring their compliance with regulatory standards.
* Conduct non-dietary human risk assessments for operators, workers, residents, and bystanders.
* Defend dossiers and provide expert input to address complex toxicological challenges effectively.
* Assist Project Managers with quotations and contracts, ensuring alignment with established guidelines.
* Provide training and mentorship to staff, sharing expertise in relevant areas.
* Represent the organization at industry presentations, meetings, and conferences.

Key Requirements:

* A PhD in toxicology or a related field, or a Pharm.D.; certification as a European Registered Toxicologist (ERT) is highly desirable.
* 5 to 10 years of professional experience in regulatory toxicology, with a focus on pesticides.
* Strong knowledge of European and US regulatory testing requirements.
* Additional expertise in areas such as endocrine disruptor assessment, QSAR modeling, or AOP models is a plus.
* Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects effectively.
* Excellent communication skills to collaborate across teams and regions.
* Fluency in English; other European languages are an asset.
* A proactive, creative, and collaborative mindset.
