We are looking for a Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist.You will be part of our Regulatory Affairs team in Hempel’s R&D Operational and Product Support, and will collaborate with colleagues from all segments and functions across our organization.Regulatory Affairs in an integrated part of Group R&D, and is a critical process to ensure our products comply with applicable laws and regulations across the entire organization.Activity in this field includes monitoring and evaluating chemical legislation relevant for Hempel in collaboration with regulatory agencies, and to engage with them in a proactive and collaborative manner. This includes participating in regulatory meetings, registration of antifouling products, compliance with substance management regulations (e.g., REACH, US EPA, etc.), global hazard communication to users through Labelling & Safety Data Sheets.The position is based in Lyngby, Denmark. Our corporate language is English but Danish is a requirement due to the fact that it is necessary to communicate in Danish whit the Danish authorities.Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Monitor relevant Health, Safety and Environmental – HSE regulations and ensure that Hempel complies with all relevant biocidal legislation for any country that it distributes and sells its products (including but not limited to):
  • Preparation of Biocidal Products Regulation – BPR dossiers/data packages.
  • Preparation of Human Health Risk Assessment and Environmental Risk Assessment of biocidal products.
  • Monitor, interpret and generate impact assessments of upcoming changes to the biocidal products regulation.
  • Maintain and follow up on product approvals.
  • Approval of test protocols with external test laboratories.
  • Build efficient working relationships with key functions: Sales, Marketing, Regional TS, Customer quality, Supply Chain, Legal, as well as internally in R&D.

What does it take to become our new team member?

  • As our ideal candidate you hold a technical degree such as Engineering or Chemistry, and possesses 5+ years of experience in the field of Regulatory Affairs.
  • You have depth understanding of EU regulatory legislation and directives, and excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • You have ability to communicate effectively with regulatory authorities, government officials, major customers and senior executives within the organization
  • You are good at anticipate and overcomes obstacles, delivering quality results on time. You like working in a team and have a continuous improvement mindset. You are curious and have willingness to learn.
  • Experience in the coating industry is considered an advantage.
