DescriptionAs our new Senior R&D Structural Engineer, you will join our Global Multi-Physic Simulation (GLOMUS) network team in the Technology Center of HITACHI-Energy. You will be part of a group of key people with specific expertise in the fields of electrical, structural, acoustic, thermo-mechanic and fluid-dynamics analyses, simulation and testing.Our flexible work practices help you optimize personal and business performance while creating an environment where all employees can develop their skills and grow. For this role we follow a hybrid work structure where you can work remotely or from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences.Your responsibilitiesFinite Element simulation of structures subject to all types of static and dynamic loads (fatigue, shock, short-circuit, seismic, lifting etc.)Develop of new automations for the structural, thermomechanical and acoustic assessment of productsRun feasibility studies, develop new technical concepts, design new products and simulate their expected performancesOrganize prototyping and testing activities to validate new technologies/productsLead product and technology development in the field of Dry, Traction and Oil Distribution Transformer, delivering results on time and on budget at agreed scope and quality

Support the transfer of technology and knowledge from R&D to engineering department by writing design rules, preparing trainings and collaborating with design tolls teamProvide technical support to other departments when needed (engineering, product management, marketing, and sales etc.)Your backgroundPhD / MSc education in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering fieldSeveral years of relevant work experience in Mechanical EngineeringAdvanced knowledge of structures subject to seismic, fatigue, shock and thermal loadsExperience in the finite element analysis and in the use of ANSYS Workbench suiteKnowledge of the following programming languages: MATLAB, Visual Basic, PythonSolid bases in vibrational fatigue and structures dynamicProject management skills with an action and results oriented-mindset, coupled with innovated, out of the box thinkingExcellent communication skills in English, a robust team spirit, and willingness to travel
