The opportunity:

Leonardo UK have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support all the divisions of Leonardo in the UK.

As part of the Indirect Procurement Function you will work across all of the UK business estate that supports our employees in their delivery of a diverse range of products and services from high-energy military lasers, to cyber and physical security solutions, through to the design, manufacture and supply of rotary aircraft for commercial, public utility, security and defence applications.

What you’ll do as a Senior Quantity Surveyor

• Undertake reviews and analysis of existing construction contracts for Leonardo UK including the schedule of amendments and framework agreements; making recommendations on suitability to Indirect Procurement, Commercial and Legal Functions.
• Implementation of Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management professional industry documentation to assist, monitor, control and manage the various pre-construction processes and commercial activities. This would typically include; Stakeholder analysis, Feasibility Studies, Work package Tenders, Tender Submission Analysis, Budget cost plans, Estimated Schedule of works, Recommendations and Project Control Actions.
• Lead supply chain engagement, providing challenge in order reduce presented project costs in-line with expected market conditions to achieve value for money and obtain cost savings.
• Liaising with the Legal and Insurance functions to minimise commercial exposure and risk to the business within the management and delivery of construction contracts.
• Support Leonardo UK’s carbon reduction roadmap in-line with the businesses carbon zero targets and challenges.

What we need from you as a Senior Quantity Surveyor

You really must have:

• Significant experience within the construction industry across a number of industry sectors for client, consultant and main contracting, demonstrating leadership, technical skills and a mindset for strong governance.
• Qualified with the RICS or equivalent experience.
