About the team: The Government Relations and Public Policy team covers a wide range of responsibilities: government affairs and government relations; policy and issue area expertise; risk and crisis management and mitigation; outreach, coalitions, and partnerships. The mission of the team is to earn trust and prevent, manage, and mitigate political, legislative, and regulatory threats to TikTok. This vacancy sits within the Brussels Public Policy and Government Relaations team, based in Brussels. This is a small but growing GR team that is focused on lobbying the EU Institutions in Brussels, regarding policy and legislation that becomes applicable across the EU. Responsibilities: – Monitor the progress of online child safety/protection legislation and soft law measures, with a view to understanding the impact on our business and developing company positions, campaigns and collateral. – Actively participate in EU regulatory / policy debates and external events as an expert representative of the company. – Regularly engage with EU policymakers and build good working relationships across the spectrum of external stakeholders dedicated to online child safety. – Provide updates, advice and insights to TikTok’s internal organisational groups.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: – Direct experience in Public Policy and/or Government Relations and Advocacy work. Preferred Qualifications: – In-depth understanding of online child safety and protection, as well as the connected EU public policy issues, legislation and regulatory trends; – Experience in analysing and providing policy recommendations to draft legislative text; – Excellent written and presentation skills. Multilingual skills are a distinct advantage; – Highly adaptable and flexible, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment and to deliver measurable results.
