The position
We are expanding our highly skilled Post-Merger Integration team with an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead integration projects and champion business and M&A best practices in close collaboration with other departments. As a key member of the IMO (Integration Management Office) you will operationalize and mobilize the strategic direction provided by SteerCo and design integration projects to identify and address key risks, share specialist M&A and Novo Nordisk knowledge with the team and the wider organization and partner with stakeholders to deliver critical problem solving and decisions.
Key responsibilities
You can expect to be involved in the following activities:
-Implement project management best practices for efficient and quality project delivery.
-Share knowledge throughout Novo Nordisk with regards to M&A matters.
-Drive end-to-end integration process in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts and coordinate workstreams across different SVP (Senior Vice President) and EVP (Executive Vice President) areas.
-Facilitate communication by program- and executive-level reporting.
-Coordinate integration deliverables and anticipate challenges.
-Identify and mitigate risks, including for interdependencies and structure.
-Drive problem-solving sessions to resolve major cross-stream issues and escalate if needed.
-Build tools, processes, and templates to manage integration planning and execution.
-Prepare project plans and delegate responsibilities.
-Manage project team and set clear direction to ensure that the project can be delivered most effectively.
-Ensure that the team produces well-structured and well-argued end-products with clear and precise messages.
-Lead and coordinate onboarding of advisors.
-Take responsibility for producing final plans/reports based on a few iterations.
-Act as a mentor and guiding star for less experienced project managers.
Qualifications
You will be a catalyst for change, driving continuous improvement with your strong change management skills. You will thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional, and international environment, working with high independency and structure. Your qualifications include:
-A master’s degree in business management, strategy, or pharma related subject.
-5+ years of experience in global M&A transactions, specifically with post-merger integrations.
-Expertise in at least one of the following domains: HR, Finance, Quality, Audit, Process Management, or IT, preferably in a highly regulated industry like pharmaceuticals or finance.
-Expert team management and project management experience.
-Solid analytical skills and experience in analyzing complex business issues.
You have excellent stakeholder communication and presentation skills and can adapt tools and processes to the complexity of the deal/stakeholder landscape.
About the department
The Integration department oversees the seamless consolidation of companies post-merger. Responsibilities include strategic alignment, operational and cultural integration, change management, synergy realization, and risk management. Collaborating with executive leadership, HR, legal, and external consultants, the PMI team ensures a coordinated integration process. Essential skills encompass project management, change management, strategic thinking, and communication. Effective PMI is crucial for realizing the merger’s full potential while minimizing disruption. Challenges include cultural clashes, change resistance, and tight timelines. Ultimately, the PMI department plays a vital role in ensuring the long-term success of the integrated entity.
